Limitless

A contented song
from a bird that quietly sings,
and while it rings
a chance to rest,
for at this moment, all is best.

Sharing its simplicity,
never guilty of duplicity
to the following truth:
The sky has no roof.

The chains of the mind
will return, in-kind,
the perception of hell
in exchange for an empty shell.

The things that we hold
as we inevitably grow old
wither away.
But we never leave,
there is nothing to bereave.
Celebration sitting on a branch
Life’s whistle, a wonderful trance.

A happy song
from a bird that quietly sings
And while it rings
A chance to rest,
For at this moment, all is best.

(bird = flying and freedom,)

Sharing its simplicity (main idea: simplicity is part of what is best)
Never guilty of duplicity (honesty to oneself brings about what is best)
To the following truth:
The sky has no roof.

( roof = limits, next stanza will talk about limits)

The chains of the mind
Will return, in-kind
The perception of hell
in exchange for an empty shell.

(the things that cause pain are in the mind, they are self imposed)

The things that we hold
As we inevitably grow old,
Wither away.
But we never leave,
There is nothing to bereave
Celebration sitting on a branch
Life’s whistle, a wonderful trance.

(the bird = freedom, feedom coming from the realization that we are interconnected and after we die will become part of the bird, the branch etc. We can not be happy until we get rid of our limits that prohibit us from seeing the truth. Limits could be attachment to material possessions, substance use, sex, believing in God, getting a new job………and the list goes on)
